The Propulsion Engineer in Components Manufacturing at SpaceX will develop advanced engine control components for the Raptor engine, integrating various engineering disciplines to ensure manufacturability and reliability. The role involves designing, analyzing, building, and testing components while leading projects and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing and integration processes for components and assemblies in the Raptor engine family.
- Conceptualize and drive innovative manufacturing processes to meet high production targets.
- Collaborate with design/development engineers to optimize engine hardware manufacturability and reliability.
- Oversee the introduction and implementation of new products and revisions.
- Maintain ownership over the production line, ensuring process consistency and quality.
- Spearhead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for hardware issues.
- Coordinate with peers and motivate team members to achieve production goals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience with engine, fluid, or system design, development, fabrication, assembly, or testing.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Experience with liquid rocket engines or spacecraft systems preferred.
- Expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
