Responsibilities
- Own the design and development of mechanical spacecraft systems
- Perform analysis on designs including hand calculations, FEA, and CAD
- Lead design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and customers
- Manage project delivery timeline from design through production, launch, and recovery
- Exemplify technical excellence and accountability in work
- Collaborate with project teams to drive the design of mechanical components
- Engage in problem-solving and failure analysis as needed
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or physics
- 1+ years experience with CAD and FEA software packages
- 1+ years hands-on experience in design and development of mechanical components
- Leadership experience on an engineering or project team preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to make data-driven decisions
- Willingness to work extended hours and travel as needed
