Responsibilities
- Own the engineering specification, targets, architecture, design, development, schedule, and release of AV HW and integration components.
- Collaborate with ID to generate creative ideas and conduct feasibility studies for functional design.
- Assist AV HW engineering teams at OEM partners and manage CAD and data exchange.
- Work with manufacturing to support production of components.
- Collaborate with CAE and test teams to design and execute validation plans.
- Support development and vehicle builds, identifying issues and providing solutions.
- Drive part quality improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency improvements.
Job Requirements
- 3 years of experience in mechanical design and vehicle body systems.
- Strong background in areas such as Autonomous Sensors, EV Powertrain, and chassis.
- Familiarity with studio design process and automotive industrial design.
- Experience with GD&T standards and parameter/tolerance design concepts.
- Knowledge of full product development process from concept to production.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes like stamping and injection molding.
- Ability to design for various materials optimizing for cost, weight, and durability.
