Responsibilities
- Work with design teams to understand design intent and provide manufacturability input.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturability assessments to manage risks and influence early-stage designs.
- Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing Managers to establish optimal manufacturing supply chains.
- Develop leading processes to meet design, cost, and quality requirements.
- Work with suppliers to develop processes, troubleshoot issues, and scale production.
- Design experiments and lead studies to drive decisions related to design and manufacturing.
- Travel up to 25% to supplier sites.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of manufacturing or process development experience.
- Experience in assembly, lamination, automation, CNC machining, and other manufacturing processes.
- Preferred experience with highly cosmetic consumer electronics parts and electro-mechanical components.
- Hands-on experience with failure analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Asia-based contract manufacturers and high-volume consumer electronic products.
- Experience developing suppliers or equipment for New Product Introduction (NPI).
